    I have a bunch of series episodes scattered on DVD-R discs that I want to author, put in order and burn back to DVD-R. Can I do this with TMPGEnc and or Nero Express? I've been trying but haven't been able to figure out how. Do I need to use something else and if so what?

    you could use DVD Shrink in re-author mode - pick the episodes you want from the original discs and re-author a new compilation. no recompression needed.
