  1. Hi...

Since the update of sp2 ...w media player wont play divx files...?

If I use the divx player it plays fine....but I prefer w media player.

I have the latest version of the codec ie,5.2.1...which is supposed to be sp2 compatible.

I have read that insome cases this is resolved by re-installing directx 9b...unfortunately I have directx 9c.; so I can't even try it!...directx 9c can't be uninstalled...?

    What can I do guys....?

    Thanks.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling all your codecs one at a time

  3. There really is no reason SP2 itself would affect playing of DivX files... What version of WMP are you using? have you updated to WMP10? Also, do you have the Windows Firewall activated?

I have updated to SP2 and have had no problems whatsoever. However, I promptly shut off the Windows Firewall and use Zone Alarm and have also updated to WMP10. All DivX/Xvid files are playing perfectly.

Can you tell us what happens when you attempt to play a Divx file? Do you get an error message from WMP?
