Is there a format/method I can export, save, or frameserve a "Comilation" created in MS MovieMaker that can be:
Opened by Virtual Dub?
Frameserved TO Virtual Dub?
I want to compress using DIVX, but for some reason, MM2 isn't allowing that as an option. It seems to me that WMV files are useless. Utterly useless. Completely and irrevocably useless.
I like the ease and quickness that MM2 provides; I like the transitions, wipes, effects, etc... but I need to save the overall movie so that I can work on it somehow to compress to DIVX, or pad, or crop, etc.
Also, of course, I need to extract the main audio track(s) and re-compress those as well.
Any suggestions? Links or utilities? I did search, but couldn't narrow down what I needed to a search phrase that was helpful.

Moviemaker can only export Type 1 AVIs, which Virtualdub can't read.
The easiest solution would be to try the new version of Virtualdub (1.6.0), it has a built in DV decoder and will handle Type 1 AVIs.
Other solutions would be to convert the Moviemaker AVI to Type 2 (see conversion tools in Tools section here), which Vdub can open.
Try using Avisynth to frameserve it in."Just another sheep boy, duck call, swan
song, idiot son of donkey kong - Julian Cope"
