I recently attached a Maganavox (Philips) MRV 640 Recorder to my TV and Direct Satelite receiver. After setting up the Recorder according to the manual everything appeared to be ok. The first time that I recorded with it the picture appeared to be fine. However, lately, the picture has become dark and lacks detail in the shadow areas. Also, the faces appear to be overly sun tanned. The manual does not any reference to my situation. I read most all the questions and answers listed on this Wed site but did not find any direct references to my particular problem. I would appreciate help.
Thank you,
bulach

If your early recordings looked fine but now are looking bad, there may be a problem with the DVD recorder. Also, different stations and programs on the satellite will vary in picture quality - that could be the problem, too.
