The problem that i have is that when i load the dvd in my standalone dvd player the movie clip that i have as background in the main menu
plays at half speed(audio&video)?
I really cannot understand what i have done wrong!
On the other hand before burning the disk and playing it from the folders in my hard drive(with windvd) everything seems ok
Another problem is that i have syncronization problems within the movie.
(if i convert my files with tmpeg encoder before feeding them to dvd author would it resolve it?)

I had the same problem. Converting the files didn't help in my case, but I did find a solution. I keep video clips to 15 minutes or less. For example, if the movie is 1 hour 30 minutes I load the full movie 6 times. In the first one I go to the 15 minute mark and delete the rest of the clip. Then go to the 2nd one and delete the first 15 minutes and the last hour.
It's easier to start at the end- back up 15 minutes and make a note of the exact time mark where you cut. The go to the 2nd from the end and cut off from that point to the end. Back up another 15 minutes- etc, etc. I found that this is easier because you usually can't make cuts exactly at 15 minutes. -
Have you checked your capturing methodes and encoding? Tried a different player? Etc...
All I can say is Tmpgenc DVD Author works perfectly on my system, so perhaps it's a system problem or file problem. The program works!
For example, my 2 best motion menus I created so far!
I capture directly to mpeg 2 files and author those, also burn with Tmpgenc DVD author. So far I normally just grab a section of the movie for the menu, but am starting to capture menus as seperate files now to use on disk sets. Or clips from other movies still on the hard drive.
I just did 6 VHS tapes of Star trek next generation (I own the collector set) for DVD backup. On my DVDs I have a motion menu of the enterprise flying from the rear to forground and off the screen, then it reappears on the left and flies off to the right top. That one is main menu.
Episode menu has several worlds in orbit. Both menu's work perfectly on all six disks (12 episodes) I have created so far. I have sound off on these menus.
To create the same motion menu for all these disks I created the first DVD with menu, when I got that menu the way I wanted it, I saved the template. The menus are clips out of one of the tapes. Each time I created the new disk, I open the template, delete the movies, add the new movies, edit (set chapters and cut unwanted stuff) then edit the chapter titles. Since only the movies change, the menus all remain exactly the same except for espisode titles on all my disks in this set.
As long as I do not forget and delete the file I am using the clips from I am fine, though when I delete those mpeg2 files, I will lose my motion menus of course!
Herbie the Love bug, I created a motion menu of the VW racing, it was a clip from the second movie where the bug dreams of all the races he won in the first movie. I think the menu is nearly 2 minutes if I remember corectly and it has sound too. It runs perfectly!
I have made others also that work well, but those were my best and largest!
What the program does, it does very well for me on my system and with my type files, though I wish there were more settings to play with! Like only one time setting for all the motion menus I do not like! I might want main menu 90 seconds and espisode menu only 30seconds, but there seems to be only one setting for how long the menu plays that adjusts them all. Each menu should have it's own settings! Also I might want sound on one but not the other, but I have to set them both the same so far, unless I missed something?
My system is a 1700xp, 1gig ram, 60gig/120gig/160gig maxtors 7200 8mb cache drives, Toshiba Sd-r5200 burner, Liteon 48x24x48x (16xDVD?) combo, and ATI AIW 7500 Radeon AGP video/capture card.
I run Win 2000 Pro.
I capture VHS at 352x480, 6,000bps (unless I need more time), mpeg2.
I use ati's MMC 7.7
I was burning 1x leda/princo disks from shop4tech and never actualy had a bad disk! Only a few burned with nero that would not play on some players.
I burned some Ritek G04 printables at 2x and now am burning Ritek G03 printables at 2x on my toshiba and never a bad one! I buy these from Rima now.
I now burn ALL disks using Tmpgenc DVD Authors built in burner and never had one of those disks refuse to play in any DVD setop player yet, and none have ever played badly either. -
thanks for your replies!
the thing is that i load the minidvd on my pc and it works perfect but when i load it on my standalone dvd player the clip that i have as background in my main menu plays at half speed.
Might anyone has had this pro or has any idea what is going on?
(i must add that i do not use make a dvd in nero but the make a data cd tab and i drag the audio and video folder) -
Oh,
I have no idea about Mini DVD or cd's. Perhaps that's your problem, your pc will play anything that holds the files probably but your player might be having trouble with the type of disk and type of files combination?
I never tried that, so I don't kow.
