  5. Since DVD writers are usually better at reading than DVD-ROM drives a real speed test would be in a LiteOn or Toshiba DVD-ROM drive with the rip-lock removed.
However its not bad for a 4x media burned at8x

i did the same test with dvdinfopro and the result was much different---much WORSE!!!! i couldn't get a screen shot because the feature was removed. do i have to buy the full version for dvdinfopro to save screen shots?????

the test was done with my external lite on 812S@832S plugged into a USB 2.0 on my laptop. should i try again at home with my lite on dvd rom, or lite 812S@832S??

just manually take a screenshot, ctrl+alt+print screen keys then paste into paint.

check out these two scans. first one is with nero speed tool, second with infopro. this burn was done the same as the first except at 4 X. are these acceptable??????

  12. yes, "acceptable." Just remember that over time, it just gets worse (scratches, dust, humidity, cheap dye..) so starting out with something that already has minor errors will only cause the disk to eventually be unreadable even faster.

(I rewrote that last sentence so many times it doesnt even make sense anymore)
