    My new Dell 2.4 GHz with 256 MB or ram and SP1 came to a screeching halt after I installed SP2. Everything slowed to a crawl .... even after I'd msconfig'd everything that looked innocus. My DVDs stuttered, the sound was all static and scratchy .... and my apps would grind and grind before loading. All was well though when I was able to uninstall it. So, if your system is marginal ... like this Dell Laptop, you may want to consider before you break a perfectly good machine.

    You didn't break it, it just wasn't compatible. :P I hear many more success stories than I do horror stories.

    Works great on my HP 4101 laptop. No problems, great security improvements. Built in pop up blocker, no more MS messenger icon!
