  1. Hey everyone.

I bought a DVP642/37 about 2 weeks ago, I can't get it to play SVCDs. I download a bunch from suprnova and burn them onto a dvd. The player tries to play them but the picture is all screwd-up. The same SVCD on the same disc playes perfectly fine on my computer.

Any ideas? Is it because I am burning them on DVDs instead of CDs?
could it be the way I am burning them? (program options)

The SVCDs are 800Mb and I have no 800Mb CDs so I could not test that theory. I looked at about 10 stores and couldn't find any.

DivX, Xvid, DVD, VCD all lpay fine just not SVCDs.

    Someone PLEASE HELP

800 Meg SVCD files will burn just fine onto 700 Meg discs so long as you process them as SVCDs. Try it with Nero. I used to do these all the time. Just use the drop down menu.

  3. can't figure out how to do that....oh well

  4. Really, if you can't figure out how to burn you movies you have no business pirating them.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

  5. Ok I figured out what I was doing wrong with Nero. So the DVP642 plays SVCDs burnt on CDs but not on DVDs. Has anyone else had this problem? Or figured out a way arround it?

I have no problem playing SVCDs burnt on to DVD +/- R/RW.

It could be brand problems. It could be your burner.
