  1. I have a 2-disc set that I would like to burn onto one DVDR. I'd like to replace one VOB on one of the DVDs with a VOB from the other DVD, and burn it all onto one DVDR. I tried just replacing the VOB with the other one (nad renaming it appropriately), but I only got picture on the DVDR, not audio. Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The easiest way would be with NeroVision Express, but you will lose any 5.1 sound (2 channel only).

if you just want to combine VOB's you can use VOBedit

it would help if you told us exactly what is on each DVD and whether you want menu's or a seamless join etc

  4. Or copy all the content from the discs onto your hard disk and use the re-author function in Shrink.

TMPGenc's DVD author will also do this.

  5. Thanks for all the advice.

I'd like to keep the original menus and just replace one title with a different film. So when I click on that title on the menu, it would play the new VOB rather than the original one.

Which program would do that most easily? I have Pinnacle Instant Copy, but no DVD authoring software. Is there freeware that can do this, or a free trial? Don't want to pay for software for just this one disc.

    Thanks again.

Vobblanker may do what you want

  7. Installed VOBblanker, and it seemed to work great - I replaced the one VOB with the new one, and it even knew that the new one was 4:3 and the old one was 16:9.

So I made the disk, and tne menu now starts the new VOB like I wanted - but, once again there's no sound!! How do I get the sound included?

    Thank again for any help!

the IFO will probably contain the original attributes. If you inserted a VOB into a VTS that still contains video then you need to check that the audio doesn't conflict

an example would be that your 1st audio stream on your inserted VOB is 2.0 and the original was 5.1 and the rest of the VTS is also 5.1 on the 1st stream

you would have to remap the stream in both the VOB and the IFO . I know you can remap the IFO using Vobblanker but I'm not sure about the VOB's

If there is no other VOB's in the VTS then you can just edit the audio streams with PGCEdit to the same as in the original

  9. Thanks for the help.

    Here's what I did:

I chose the main movie (in 5.1 and 16:9) which had three files, and deleted 2 of them and replaced the first one with the new VOB which is in 4:3 and in 2 channel sound.

VOBblaster correctly identified the aspect ratio difference, but not the audio difference.

So if I delete the other files in the VOB, I can just use PGCEdit to fix the audio?

    Thanks again.
