    I am having alot of probems with the burned DVD's. After I use DVD Shrink the finished DVD at certain points will jump backwards a few chapters. The output file on the hard drive from DVD Shrink is perfect. I have a Liteon 812s and an 832s both with current firmware. I use Ritek DVD's. I have tried burning with Roxio, Nero, and DVD Decrypter, all have the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Do the disks do this when playing them in your PC, or just a standalone player. Are they + or - R ? Is your player compatable with the type of disk being used (i.e. + or - format) ? Have you tested the disks in other players ?

    They do it in both the standalone and the PC. The DVD's are -R and they do it in the 2 standalone players I've tried.

    JDShaffer,
    My method uses ImgTool Classic 0.91.3, to create an iso of DVD Shrink`s
    VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders...
    It then auto-burn`s using DVD Decrypter.

    Never a prob, if the vid plays well off the harddrive in a software player,
    (PowerDVD, WinDVD, ECT.) before burning.

  5. so copying to HD first then burning with Nero? You shouldn't have a problem. I think some people were having trouble with Nero after updating to WinXp SP2., but I think the latest Nero patches address that issue.

    Are you shutting down all background apps (virus/firewall/etc) before burning? Maybe something is accessing your HD and making it work too hard while you are burning? Just my .02

    Maybe try burning a music CD using CD-rs and see if it copies ok...

    Have you tried using something like DVDInfoPro to read test the dick after you have written it ? It seems unusaual that this would happen consistently with two different burners, 3 different burning apps and two different players unless there was something fundementally wrong with either your PC, or your method.

    Given that the image plays fine from the HDD prior to burning, it would point to the PC congif being the issue. As Noek suggested, try burning something other than DVDs and test them to make sure they are fine. If not, look at things like burning software, IDE cables etc. You should not have to shutdown all backgrouns apps while burning unless you have very little memory. I know that my anti-virus app and firewalls (two of them) are always running, otherwise I'd have to take my PC off the net to burn. These apps have never cause me a problem.

    I believe you have a hardware or system config issue. Finding it will be the hard part.

    /*edit

    Did you install any aspi drivers for burning - if so, there may be a conflict there

    end edit*/
