  1. I transferred some video from my Sony DCR-TRV250 camcorder to a PC via USB and there is no sound.

The PC does NOT have a firewire port on it. But USB should have worked, right? What happened to the sound??

    The machine is a P4 w/ Windows 2000 and USB 2.0.

    Any help would be appreicated.

    Thanks,

The USB transfer is just basically a file copy. If it's in the copy in the camcorder it should be the same on the HD.

Check your soundcard settings, mute, codecs for WMP, etc.

  3. Thanks... I'll check that out.

Someone else told me I may need an audio connection from the camcorder to the PC in addition to the USB??

  4. Thanks for the reply, but I was using Roxio Easy CD DVD Creator 7 to capture, not Image Mixer. I will try that program though...

    Thanks,

That's incorrect, as Capmaster said it's a file transfer. Just like your copying one file from one folder to another. Basically.

I think what jester is suggecting with that link is that maybe there's a audio option on your capture program that you have to check, examine the options.... Weird if there is but obviously it's possible considering that link.

  6. Yep, I got it. There was an option in the program to select the audio source. the deafult was set to the sound card but needed to be set to the camcorder.

    Thanks,
