  1. hi can anyone help me i have a movie that is a avi and i want to put it on a 4.7gb dvd but it won't fit it's to big. the quality of the dvd ripped movie i have is really good but don't want to lose the quality. can anyone tell me how i can get this movie on a dvd and and if you know any programs that will do this can you tell me please help thaks all labontecar18

    Zip it..... Without reencoding or splitting it into two parts it's the only way I know and that's only if the zipping program can compress it enough to fit.

    I think we're talking about AVI to DVD Video conversion here, right?
    Use a bit rate calculator to get to the correct mpeg2 bit rate to use when encoding the AVI, to make it fit one DVD.
    Or just use what you use, and then use DVDShrink to shrink your too big DVD Video structure down to reasonable size.

Also you could encode the avi file (if you just want to burn an avi file to a dvd, which you can't play in your dvd player) with a different codec like the xvid codec, just look in the tools section. Also, the program that you could use to do that would be Stoik Video Converter. If you want to make it mpeg2 dvd, just run it through TMPEGNC, it will give you a predicted output size, so you can adjust the bitrate accordingly.
