  1. i have a movie in an "avi" file. if is 700mb and is 1hr45min long.
i was wondering how i can fit it on a dvd to play on my dvd player?

    i have TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc.DVD.Author.

when i convert the avi to mpeg, on my burning program (Nero and Ulead Movie Factory) they say it is 6.6GB, when the mpeg file is 4.

how can i fit this on a single DVD??

Of course, I never recomend converting an AVI ( DIVX? ) to MPG2 and then to DVD. Even though it may appear to be "excellent" quality to you, you would see the difference immediately when compared to the original. However, if you still insist, converto to MPG2 as you where planing, even if it is 6 gigs. Author the MPG2 to DVD / make two folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. DVD files go in the VIDEO_TS folder. Now load that into DVD Shrink or any other shrinking program and transcode it to fit the 4.38 gig capacity of a DVD. That's it
