  1. I have a Pioneer burner (A107 I think... I'll have to check when I get home) that is supposed to be able to burn 4x discs at 8x speed. However, I've been unable to get Nero or DVDShrink to give me that option with my 4x discs. Any suggestions?

  5. I have a Pioneer DVR-107D... I'm using Ritek 4X silver top DVDRs I purchased from Meritline. It's plugged into the master IDE cable. It's using driver 5.1.2535.0. I'm not sure of the firmware... I'm going to look into that now.

Why would you want to risk dye melt-off burning a 4X disc at 8X? Is the 7 minutes gained worth that risk?

  9. I had a similar problem with my Pioneer A04, what it turns out to be is if the disc's ID code is NOT listed in the DVD's bios IT WILL NOT BURN AT HIGH SPEED!!! To fix my problem I flashed the bios with a hacked bios and now ANY DISC BURNS AT HIGH SPEED!! But be carefull, if you use crappy disc's you could wind up with coasters!!
