this is a problem i find that is exactly oposite of most.

when i convert my avi to dvd (mp2 & m2v) using tmpgenc, my mp2 is just fine (the audio is fully there). you cannot see it in the preview screen either.

but my video is nothing but black.

the original avi plays on mediaplayer just fine. when i try a program like cucusoft avi to vcd svcd dvd, it strips the avi fine (but to an mpg).

please help, how do i get tmpgenc to recognize the video?

i have never run across this problem.

  2. You may need to adjust the Enviromential Setting/Vfapi order or if its a MPEG coded in the AVI file may need a plugin to open it up.

i was hoping it wasn't the vfapi settings, i've had success how i have them now.

and what kind of plugin would be needed by tmpgenc that wouldn't already be on my computer? i have all the various codec packs installed (k-lite, nimo and xvid).

  4. Actually there are plugins to read file formats like MOV and Mpeg2.

The catch with AVI is its just a wrapper for a video. You could almost contain the planet under the rules of an AVI file structure.

I need two setting. One for the DC10+ card and the 2nd for a AVI-DV file. Else the black screen. Also it can if miss adjusted to be slow in accessing the video file.
