I'm about to order an LG 4120B writer. I'm wondering if anyone else who owns this drive can make a good recommendation on blank media -- mainly DVD-R.
I was looking at Meritline's compatibility chart and it shows Ritek G05's being compatible to only 4x? Any pros or cons to burning at 8X or other reliable brands?
Thanks in advance.

I just bought the drive about two weeks ago, and so far everything I've put in this machine works great -- TDK, Maxell, Ritek, Sony, Philips, Samsung and Verbatim. For CD media, I've used Maxell, Ritek and Fuji without any problems at all. It's a great little burner. As far as 8x media, I've only used the Verbatim 8x that comes in the package with the D/L and it seemed to work just fine.

I was using Prodiscs in mine, which worked fine till the burner died on the 17th burn. In two days of looking into the burner I couldn't find anything bad about it, just my rotten luck I guess.
