One word...wow. I'm half hindu and half sikh so I only know a little bit about christianity and I had a couple of questions about the movie.

    1. Why was jesus tortured?
    2. What was so controversial about the movie?

I think I know the answer to these already but I just want to make sure I'm right. Also, I know we're not supposed to discuss religion in the forums so please feel free to pm me. Thanks

  2. "Christianity" is not a unitary religion. There are more interpretations and beliefs than you can shake a stick at. Just about EVERY movie that has a portrayal of Jesus is "controversial".

There were many things that made it controversial. The first is obviously the amount of violent, graphic images in it. The second is the fact that people that had not seen it immediately accused it of being anti-semitic. Third, its a movie about the death of Jesus.

Why was he tortured? That's getting into religion and I don't think we can talk about it here.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

    It's not religion, it's history...

he was tortured by the romans as an example. To let any other would be king of the jews know what would happen to them.
    "Terminated!" :firing:

  5. I think many would consider the physical and spiritual "torture" of Jesus to have a lot more significance than Roman totalitarianism... ... but that IS getting into religion.
