  1. Hello.I was trying of capture the image of one dvd-r with powerdvd and nothing...
    I was try in two pcs...the dvd play fine in the panasonic dvd player
    and in LG dvd rom ...,and I can make captures for others dvd-r but powerdvd can't make captures
    of one dvd-r in particular (only one black color picture)

    Maybe I must convert this dvd to avi or mpeg format and with some soft for movie editing
    select frames for capturing ....please,send me opinions...

    could someone ,please,send me info or link about some software alternative to power dvd in windows
    (I prefer freeware) for capture of dvd ?

    are you talking about screen captures of still images, or motion video capturing?

    to be honest it's never worked for me either, not that it's any help. works fine with DivX but not DVD, most likely due to copy protection.

    if image quality is important (though it will still only be 720x480) then rip the DVD straight to your hard drive and capture the frames you want from there. This will save you the added time it would take to compress it into another (lower quality) format.

    but the image be a bit less quality...anyway... many thanks to all...
