do you have the drive? Or are you looking to get it just like I am?
Ive been looking to get this myself.

if you do whats the support like natively?

Ive heard its not supported but you can use Patch Burn II and make it work with iTunes and 'maybe' iDVD

  3. Its in the mail as we speak, I hope. I couldn't wait cause i didn't want the price to get any higher.

I heard the same thing about patch burn but only on 10.3.4.

by the way i read that dual burning was done on DVR-106D (the one i have now) On a Pioneer demo.

When i receive it i'll give you the run down.

And when you burn a DL dvd from end to end and it works you can let us all know how it goes. A friend of mine has it but cant make the DL media burn has wasted 6 in the trials.

You cant burn on the 106 mate it was a pioneer modified drive just to start hype about what might be possible.
Also on the 108 front i was given this link its from xlr8yourmac and might help some people i have not read it all yet but thought that i should pass it on. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/toast_6_0_7_feedback.html#storytop

  9. Pioneer 108 works great for DL, but 16x speeds are very bad. The drive uses Zone-CLV for 12x and 16x DVD-R and DVD+R. Pioneer improved the write speed a little in the 1.10 firmware releases yesterday, but it still takes 6 minutes 30 seconds to burn. Beng and Liteon drives are burning 16x media at 5 minutes 30 seconds because they use CAV.

NEC 2510 is still the best DL drive. Pioneer 108 is 4x DL which is nice, but NEC has set the standard for DL now, and others have yet to catchup.

When you get the Pioneer 108, update the firmware right away. You need at least 1.06 above or burning a DL is just a waste. I've burned several DL on the Pioneer 108 and haven't had any problems since updating the firmware, but I've burned 30-40 on the NEC 2510 and it has been flawless for me.

To flash the dvr108 a pc is still needed. But as soon as dvrflash v.2 is out on the mac it will support the 108 and if i am not mistaken also the 103 if people have them that old.

You just need to install :

    "PATCHBURN II"

    Even under OSX 10.3.5.
