Secure Ways to Sell Items on the Internet?

Hello,

I'm considering selling an expensive item (>$10K US) to a person via the Internet. I would be receiving the funds from a second party.

With the rash of phony cashier checks, ceritfied checks, even phony cash, I'm beginning to wonder if there is any safe way to sell an item and not get burned.

Does anyone have a suggestion on a fair but secure method to handle a transaction like this?

--paypal may have an escrow opiton, I know ebay does for pricey items---

This may sound like a bad idea to most but I'd say E-Bay.

Before you guys "bbboooooo" me let me explain, e-bay provides buyers/sellers protection plans as well as using escrows. If the buyer uses PayPal to pay, it's even better because PayPal provides another layer of protection.

The DOWNSIDE, you'll have to pay e-bay AND PayPal for seller's fees.
