  1. I'm looking at getting a new writer in the next few weeks only due to the fact that i have an LG GMA4020b and it's getting a bit old and unrilliable what are your thoughts on the this.

    Pioneer DVR-108 16x DVD+/-R writer with 4x Double Layer DVDR writing compatibility and 32x CDR writing compatibility.
    £60 inc VAT

    is dual layer both -r and +r

    to my knowledge at this stage it is only -r but i may be wrong

    dual layer is only + media from what i've read on other forum sites.

  5. The DVR-108 will burn DVD+R DL with DVD-ROM booktype automatically, which is a good thing. But the drive still doesn't support bitsetting of DVD+R (SL) and DVD+RW.

    Think you right there. -R is due out later this year.

    Cant find any -R DL....
    The 108 is a good drive been using it for a couple of weeks now and its running well.
    Not bothered by small problems...
