Just getting into DVD riping and wanted to know what hardware I would need.
Is 10gig of space enough to rip a dvd?
Its a noobie question but I am a noobie

depends on the movie size i had a 20 gig with 9 free and i could rip anything. it all depends on the size of the movie.

yes it all depends on the size of movie. so let's see
- vob files will be average of 4-6 gig (only movie if you wanna rip special feature will need some more, 1-2 gif)
- if you use dvd2avi will add an extra more of 1-2 gif for wave file.
- final mpeg file will be another 1.5 gig.
So total should be around 6.5-10 gig, now you will see how big of HD you need.
