hey guys i used to encode divx to svcd n burn them using nero
this was extremely easy as i used tmpg enc to encode them
however i gto sick of changign cds in between movies and bought a dvd burner
NOTE i use these dvds on my home entertainment system dvd player (not computer)
i recently encoded a divx movie to dvd with the help of the tutoials
but.. im stuck.. do i have to author it, example make chapters, cant i just burn it on dvd? is nero capable of doing this and is nero "ok" at doing this? or will it produce a not so good dvd
another question is 3000 kbit ok for a dvd file?
for example from divx so svcd it basically 1 divx cd = 2 svcds cd
and thats with no quality loss at all
will i loose quality if i change from divx to dvd at arouind 3000 kbit?
as i have a 2 cd divx.. and i changed tmpgenc to encode it as 50% of a dvd disc so i can fit both on 1 cd... is that a bad thing?
THANKYOU deeply for the help ive looked at all the tuts and ive ended up with a dead end as they show wat to do but dont explain the reasons too much

Did you encode it to mpeg-2, vobs or what?
> do i have to author it, example make chapters, cant i just burn it on dvd?
No- you don't have to make chapters for example. You have to convert it to DVD files (which are vob, ifo and bup files)- that's part of 'authoring'.

If it looks good enough to make you happy then it's fine. If it doesn't look good when *you* watch it then it's not okay. -
Unless your DVD player can read files at the file level, you will have to author these, as BobK has said.

in ur opinion wats a good program to do this with? is tmpeg enc author ne good?

Import your mpeg2 file into tmpgenc dvd author and then author. When you have finished doing this you can then burn with nero.
