That is why people need a better firewall.

Either software or hardware or both.

    And keeping current virus definitions.

There are a couple of SP2 threads over in the computer forum that are interesting. Our own prolific Gitreel has been active in those threads.

Makes me feel glad that I'm anal-retentive about not changing my OS if it's working OK the way it is

NP as far as I can tell. It's not a cross-post.

The Mac forum members have already asked me not to move posts away from their forum even if there are categoties that they are better suited for. Case in point: A post about a sale price on DVD-R media. Media Forum right? Nope. They wanted it close to home in the Mac area.

After one of them explained that they have to wade through mountains of PC stuff to find Mac stuff, they prefer to post just in that forum. Makes perfect sense to me.

Same here. You are making your fellow OT PWs aware of this, and it should stay here. Especially since there are already two posts in Computers about it

I would worry more about him reconsidering the value of even having an OT forum if these crypto, masturbation and single-word posts continue. Just something to consider

I wouldn't want to argue that one with him. Kind of a weak case - "Well you do it too"

The one word posts are only part of a general lowering of the perceived IQ over here from other people's comments. Many are concerned that with the professional people who regularly frequent this site, the posts like what we have been seeing may give them a reason to not take videohelp.com seriously. That's all. It's not an earth-shaking issue - just an observation that has become more true the last few weeks. Nuff said
