aznguy,
If it were me, I'd break it out into sections!
Cap at 1/2 hour encrements. If that doesn't help,
then try 15 minuets. I can't see why anyone would want
to cap a complete 6 hour tape straight, but then again,
I've ben meaning to cap all my Olympics (about 7 tapes @ 8 hrs worth)
but I'm not gonna do that. First of all, I taped them at EP. So,
you know that quality, quality will suck very BIG time!
A while back, I did a couple of test clips at SP and EP modes, and
EP sucked totally. SP was better, and... that was w/ a regular VCR
recorder. Now, I have an S-VHS and quality though improved for SP
is still not the greatest less the source is really really good.
But if you must, than, by all means, cap you EP tape(s). But, do it
in increments. You can join them all together later (though I don't
recommend it)

I'm trying to capture a 30 min out of the 60 hrs tape...but still audio and video not together...I was wondering if its because the SLP? should it matter? thanx anyways... anyone else?

aznguy,
funny how people seem to be having audio synco problems.
I suspect that it's a hardware related issues - the sound card.
I use the Santa Cruz card. I yanked out my SB live card(s).
Had them all. Had a few synch issues with them all, but when
I replaced with the santa cruz, all my audio synch issues pretty
much dissapeared! (once in a while I might get something, prob.
due to other issues) Something about to much of the PCI
bandwidth being eat'en up by the SB Live family of cards.
You might want to try and pruchase el-chepo sound cards at your
closest computer store. Try those $39 jobs. If you audio issues
go away, that was your problem (all you's as well out there), but
if not, the only inconvenience is you have to return for refund.
I did this with the Santa Cruz - I guess I lucked out! -
but capturing a normal tape (SP) 2hr is fine... out of that tape I only capture 30 mins...same with the 6 hrs, I only need to capture 30 mins too... but not fine with the 6 hr tape... is it because the speed differences on the VHS?

does anyone know?
got another question, how is the Panasonic RP56 Progressive dvd player? -
I don't know about any of you but i stick to sp when recording on my video. I found that a recording in lp mode doesn't play well on another video recorder.
