Just bought the Epson r200 printer and was curious about what printable dvd+r media to get. Not sure of brands that have had problems with playback. For non printable disks I've used Verbatim & Memorex 4x hundreds of times no problems. Also, WHITE or SILVER? How are the 8x media, is that to fast to burn movies on (ie cause errors)? What about Prodisc and Ritek?

  5. have used Tayio Yuden printables - comes out very nice w/ good quality media... also, samsung beall are full face printable right to the core...supposedly these are (/were) good quality media although over the past half year or so I stared reading a few things - maybe they changed something on the production...I haven't had any troubles w/ mine though - it would be worth reading some current posts to see what's happening ...the full face is great if you've got something w/ nice graphics, photo, etc...good compatibility...rima.com has them or maybe cdrom2go

  8. Depends what you're printing - if it's one small line of text in one colour, expect loads.

If it's full face colour jobs with a high density, expect considerably less.

Don't forget a page of printed text is about 5% coverage - if you suddenly go to 100% you'll destroy your carts in no time... so it's difficult to say.

New question. I just bought printable prodics that allow you to print all the way to the center. Is the center the hub? not sure? What do I set the inner outer diameters for?

    1. Do I use 8, 12, or custom.
    2. If custom what mm's?

Looking to print almost to the middle.

    Thanx

  12. just for reference, I think the EPSON program has a minimum diameter for the inner setting that is still too big for some media. If you search the forums, (try using the epson software name as the criteria or maybe 900 or 960 since I think this was before the new ones came out), someone posted a registry hack to allow you to go as small as you need on the inner diameter...just a handy thing to be aware of.
