I just purchased a Sony RDR-GX300 and I'm seeing a thin black line at the bottom of all recordings. The line is consistent in width and length and appears on both DVD-R and -RW (only two media types I've used at this point). It appears regardless of the mode of recording or channel being recorded (satellite).
The line is close to the very bottom of the screen when a recording is played back (tested on multiple DVD players). It does not appear to be noise or a screen artifact. It is consistent through the entire recording.
This is the first DVD recorder I have owned. Is this normal? If not, what could cause the line? Thanks for any assistance.
Matt

Matt;
I used mine to record last week Olympic events using SP mode for more than 40hrs but did not see any black line on recorded DVDs (+R). I recorded through cable TV line (analog)
