  1. Wow, i have read every guide and it seems i cannot find one that works for me. I have 6 divx files all about 30 minutes, 25fps, 16:9 aspect ratio. I know i have to eventually join them together, whether it be before or after i convert from AVI to MPEG2 (right?). I also no that TMPGEnc is not the tool of choice for the DVD audio. These files have MP3 audio. I find some guides (regarding TMPGEnc) are very specific about how to configure the program before encoding to DVD and some just use the wizard. I find that all of them with screen shots don't match the screen shots of my version of the encoder. I also find that some talk about doing the audio separately first and others just kinda leave this out and tell you to configure TMPG and hit start. I'm lost, it seems that most guides out there are not really for my version of TMPGEnc (see subject line) and none really say much about when to join the videos together. Please help me out.

Note: One mention appending the avi's together with virtualdub and i got an error message while doing this because the different files had different audio bitrates that the others. Couldn't append.

Convert them seperately. Extract the audio to wav first, I use Goldwave but some people prefer Virtualdub for that. Use the wav as the audio source when you convert. Link your files at the authoring stage.

Is there an issue with updating to the latest version of TMPGEnc ?

As ZippyP. said, the "normal" course of events for MP3 audio with TMPGenc is to extract out to a WAV then feed it back into TMPGenc, or convert to MP2 or AC3 seperately and mux it back with the video, as well as join the files, when authoring.
    If in doubt, Google it.
