    After doing a fresh install do I need to run each of the service packs, or just go right to the most recent?

    You can just install SP4 right off the bat, no need for 1-3.

    I've been under the same assumption... SP4 supercedes all other service packs.

    Run it and then let Update install any additional updates since the SP4 release.
