    I need a firmware for my IOMagic 8x +/- DVD Burner Model 1008IM that you can burn 8x on 4x dvd+r's. I see that the NEC 8x DVD burner has a firmware that you can burn 8x on 4x dvd+r's, so I need a firmware just like that but only for my IOMagic 8x +/- DVD Burner Model 1008IM.

    I did some speed hacking and write strategy swap hacking on a BTC 1008 firmware.
    The results were not very pretty.
    This drive doesn't even write well to 8X certified discs and you want to burn 4X discs with it at 8X?
    Ha! Sorry bud, get a quality drive.
