How to make dvdr more compatible with standalone dvd players

I have a mpeg2 of my sisters wedding and used Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 to make dvd-r’s. using datasafe 4X dvd-r. but they only play on a couple of dvd players. All the dvd players are dvdr compatible. They all work with backup’s of original dvds. Is there something in the settings I should be changing or is there better software I should be using? My family are driving me mad!!

Try different media. That is more likely the problem than the software. If you fill out your computer specs, it's easier to give advice. What burner are you using and what OS?

Sorry, I am using xp on a 2.2 pentium and a Pioneer 104 at 4x. All backups are on the datasafe 4x dvd-r disks and work fine on all standalones only the Ulead DVD MovieFactory3 disks refuse to play.
