    Any one know of a freeware/shareware that can increase the ac3 sound
    other than to crank up the amp volume!!! Goldwave/Besweet all cannot do the job.

    It will make the ac3 2-channel but it has worked for me. Convert the ac3 to wav with Headac3he,this will normalize the sound,then convert the wav to ac3 with ffmpggui.

    Losing the 5.1 is not what I means. 2-ch ac3 is not a problem Only the 5.1
    is the problem

    I take it you have AC3Filter installed. This has an option in it to apply mroe gain to AC3 tracks on your PC during playback, and should cure your problem.

    I am not refering to playback on pc!!! but encoding to dvd. On playback on a standalone it's soft

    Has anyone tried Maven 3D pro with AAc/AC3 encoding/decoding pack?
    Don't want to pay for a dud.Any suggestions welcome
