I am trying to use BeSweet GUI to convert PAL AC3 to NTSC MP2. I have installed BeSweet and BeSweet GUI.
Now, it comes to my attention that there are also about 6 "support" programs for BeSweet GUI that have to be individually tracked down on the net, and installed in specific directories. I wonder if there is a guide anywhere on how to install BeSweet - it seems to be quite an involved process.
Interestingly, there are all kinds of neato dll's in the BeSweet folder, that would seem to have all the needed functionality....i.e., shibatch instead of ssrc, mp2enc instead of tooLame, lame_enc instead of Lame...etc....
So, why do I need to install tooLame to do a AC3 to MP2 conversion? This is really a serious question...BeSweet GUI wants all these executables specified, while the BeSweet directory contains all these dll's that seem to do the same thing.
Can someone let me know what I need to do to get BeSweet to convert something...anything...
I have looked over the BeSweet FAQ and the readme's that come with the BeSweet GUI...not a single word about how to install everything!

I agree with Lisa B. I am going nuts trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with BeSweet. I have a wav file that I am trying to convert to mp2, and it sounds nothing like the guide that I am supposed to be following. The guide is from KVCD.net by the way. I am trying to do AVI to KVCD. If anyone can be of any help please holla back. PM me or something!
Peace,

It is really easy to do and I think your making it out to be much harder then it is. Just download besweet. It will probably be in a zip file so extract all the contents to a folder. Then download the besweet gui and put this into that same folder. Then just start up the gui. You will not need any additional programs to convert an ac3 to a mp2.

The trick is that the latest stable versions of the gui and the exe don't work together for what I wanted to do.
You need to download the latest unstable beta's of both.
Also, if you are trying to convert something with a really long filename, besweet will just give a null output, and no indication of what the problem is.
Anyway, the buggy besweet has forced me to learn these things the hard way...
