I have downloaded the latest versions of both BeSweet and BeLight and none of them includes Dimzon's bse_FAAC.dll. I have Googled bse_FAAC and the only link I can find is dead:

    http://corecodec.org/frs/download.php/413/bse_FAAC.zip

Where else can I find this bse_FAAC.dll?

  3. Why do you need that specific version? I've never heard of it

The proper .dll for Belight and BeSweet are aacenc32.dll and aac.dll . These haven't been updated for years. If you can't find them, I can upload them for you

There are much newer encoders now. NeroAAC is free and encodes with better quality. You can download the .dlls from Nero for free, and use a free front end GUI such as LameXP

But Nero requires a WAV input. The specific reason I wanted bse_FAAC is that it can accept any input and output an AAC output.

  5. You will find just about every converter internally converts to a wav or flac intermediate with or without the user being aware of it

You can use almost any input with BeHappy for example (Behappy uses avisynth), or MeGUI + NeroAAC. The GUI pipes the audio using bepipe internally.

EAC3to is a great tool as well, it has many many more options and much more advanced.

My point is you will notice lower quality with aacenc32.dll or bse_FAAC , and you can still convert just about any input format using the methods I listed. EAC3to when configured properly will accept many more formats than BeSweet or BeLight for example with our without bse_FAAC.

    Good luck

It is needed because that's exactly what BeLight is asking for when you select the FAAC encode option!
If that file isn't there then Belight throws an error and won't continue.
Note also, there doesn't seem to be any option in Belight to specify alternate FAAC encoders.
This requirement is part of the most recent beta of BeLight so, if the bse_FAAC.dll encoder is no longer available, perhaps BeLight needs to adjust its requirements.

  7. Here you go:
    http://www.64k.it/andres/data/d/Dimzon_BeSweet_plugins.zip

But these plugins are really old and, as said before, you'd better use a modern AAC encoder such as the free NeroAAC.
    Really. Seriously.
