  1. i am having a problem with a movie i have, the quality of the movie is very poor and i would like to know if its anyway posssible i can repair it and put it on another dvd disc with a better quality and better sound. if so please let me know. thank you..

    and also i am very new to this

    No. Garbage in, garbage out and all that. Using some filters might improve matters marginally, but then you'd have to reencode which as such lowers the quality even more...

    It might be possible, but is a noob gonna pick it up immediately ?

    Without advanced techniques it is very difficult to improve quality.

    leads me to believe that the low Q origial is already on DVD, wheras the video restore guide seems to be mostly about restoring video on tape. Not much to do then than filter and reencode...
