  1. Hi,
Does anyone here know of a program, that can do what DVD Shrink does, but isntead of making the extra features still pictures, it can completely take out the extra features and even take out chapters from the main movie?

    Any help would be appreciated.

What do you want to do with the menus ?

Why take chapters out of the main movie ???
    If in doubt, Google it.

DVDStripper also allows selective chapter removal and you can even use MenuModder to disable the buttons

takes a while and some user know how but it's another free alternative

lol , @jimmalenko, why does anyone wanna do anything with a DVD? It's all down to personal preferences and it ranges from a full 1:1 copy right down to a cut/cropped movie only

there may be occasions where chapters may need to be removed such as boring intros or logos that are in the movie title or removing end credits etc. Some variations of DVD's may also have chapters you want to remove such as music compilations etc

so don't worry about other people's choices if they don't agree with yours

I guess the ??? part is what made me think you were just puzzled as to why he would want to do it

maybe you suffer from sticky keys as your 2nd post also had a few characters repeated

the question is now why is it sticky jimmalenko?

    p.s. only kidding of course

Must have been my nightly wrist-strengthening ritual.....

    damn jam donuts...

I guess I sorta interpreted the question regarding chapters as that the person wanted to remove chapter points as opposed to entire chapters.

So I thought I'd try and clarify the situation for my own benefit.
    If in doubt, Google it.

@wulf109, can you answer a few questions about CloneDVD please? Nobody answered my questions HERE

do you mean it removes start/end chapters or does it now allow selective chapter removal?
do it allow selective menu removal (audio & video)?
do it allow variable compression on selected titles or is it constant?
is this the same with menu regarding compression options?

    cheers

p.s. why is it nobody ever suggests(ed) Intervideo's DVDcopy seeing as it was one of the first to offer chapter removal way back last year, even before DVDStripper did . It never really got a look in even though this was a very rare feature back then

might as well answer them myself after having a play with CloneDVD seeing as nobody else is

it's only start/end and not selective, useful in some cases
    Originally Posted by MackemX

No, so this could have a very big effect on overall quality on a large menu DVD and even more with multi language menus. Imagine what a Disney DVD backup would be like

still constant so again this limits the way the user can share the compression and get better results on the main feature

it's all or nothing regarding menu's which affects the quality of the main feature depending on the size and amount of menus

I wonder if the silence regarding the answers is that CloneDVD users did not want to admit to some of CloneDVD weaknesses which are constant compression throughout and all or nothing menus which limits the control of overall quality

if people don't believe that quality is affected then I don't see any close comparisions/opinions of CloneDVD to CCE quality anywhere but I have seen a few DVDShrink ones

each to his own I suppose

Use TitleSetBlanker (Freeware ) in conjuction with dvd shrink.

TitleSetBlanker will strip out any unwanted extras as well as the ability to strip out warnings (those nasty fbi warnings, copyright warnings etc... you see for several seconds at the beginning of the movie)

If you're looking for a tool to remove buttons from menus, then try MenuEdit

This probably outlines the need to be clear in your questions. I don't know how anyone could have possibly guessed you were talking about buttons from menus given the first post.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  17. I tried DVDReMake, and I could never get it to work.
I tried cutting out certain chapters, and buttons, but then the menu became faulty.
I tried only cutting from the end, it still had a faulty menu.
What do you guys do with DVDReMake to still have good functional menus?

  19. I'm using the Pro Version 2.2.0

I tried Pulp Fiction without any changes whatsoever and the result was unplayable. I tried clicking on "Play Movie" in the menu, PowerDVD freezes.

You see there is no such ting as a cracked DVDReMake Pro 2.2.0 that actually exports the PGC commands or what it's called!

Buy this software, and most likely you would see that it works perfectly.

  22. Is there anybody with any conrete experience with DVDReMake?
Please tel me the conrete title that was authored by it, because I've tried several times and it's failed.
Is there anybody who has taken out chapters, especially from the middle (other programs can do beginings and ends).

Please give me the conrete titles you did these on, not just general experience.

@havash, try updating and using version 2.3.4 and I promise your troubles will go away and I wouldn't bother moaning or making judgement about 2.2.0 as it's now in cyberspace as people whouldn't really be using it now as it had known issues

you are using a version from 8 updates ago that is now 6 weeks old. A lot of people who had issues with 2.2.0 now get results with the later versions

if you still cannot update for some weird reason then I suggest you go to the DVDRemake forums and seek help there instead as you will soon be sorted

you will also see plenty of users experiences with this tool and how updating fixed most of their issues
