Hey all!
Shortly after I got my first Panny E50, I wanted to transfer a show I had taped of TV to DVD. Unfortunately, the reception on that particular channel was very bad, and the picture is quite snowy.
I tried recording it on my E50, but the result was that I'd get a really 'blocky' recording - It looked like a gross sensoring mosaic.
During this recording, my E50 failed completely. It wouldn't record, eject, anything! I took it back and got it replaced. I've burned about 220 disks since then, with no problem.
I was thinking of retrying this snowy show, but I'm very, VERY apprehensive.
Is there any way that the snow in the show could have cause the electronics in the first E50 to blow up? Or did I just get a bad one?
If anyone can fill me in on the effects of a seriously noisy signal on a DVR (especially an E50), I'd be very grateful.
