Now that 16x and better burners have dropped in price I'm tempted to replace my 4x Hp which has been reliable but slow. I don't want to end up with a piece of crap that only works with certain software, churns out coasters, or has quirks.
Bestbuy is selling a Buslink 16x for around $70 that I have been considering.

Lite-on, Plextor and TDK also make good burners. I know BusLink has a good reputation with add-on cards but I don't know anything about their peripherals.

your best bet is the bestbuy one because if it does crap out you can return it within like 45 days.
