I am trying to transfer material from my DV cam to my PC. Ive tried several programs and am using DVIO and windv.
I understand you get two types of dv (type1 and type2). I am trying to capture(or transfer) as type two - When I do this i get flickering squares at set portions of the screen. This is regardless of the tape being played and even if i pause the tape, the flickering remains. Obviously this shows on the transfered file and really spoils it.
Note the type1 seems to be perfect with both DVIO and windv. Anyone know what causes this - its really annoying.
Also - is the process of dv - firewire - pc a capture or file transfer process?
Thanks

Why do you need type-2 ?
Try transferring as type-1, then converting to type-2 using this tool
