I am using Machine514's great guide, "Converting SVCD PAL 25fps to NTSC 23.976 fps" but am stuck on the last section where I use TMP to change my .d2v file into an .mpeg file. My error message says that the file created will be 116% of my CD-R capacity.
The .d2v file of course was very small. But the bitrate settings won't allow me to change them. How do I "shrink" this file? Or for that matter, can I even do that?
Should I have known that my original file wouldn't fit, although I think not b/c this was the 2nd CD for a file that had 2 CDs in it.
Please let me know if you don't understand my wording b/c I don't know how to solve this problem and I need your help!
Thanks!![]()

Are you trying to convert a SVCD to a DVD compliant MPEG? If so forget that guide, get a tool called SVCD2DVDMPG, it will do everything for you.

Why are you trying to rip and re-encode a SVCD to another SVCD, why don't you just disc-copy it?

Okay then. Yep. Allrighty then.
You know? I'm gonna answer that question, indeed I am, because I think it will HELP SO MANY OTHERS (I am humbly hoping!) in their special quests in becoming video gurus.
The answer is, I don't know.
Yes, that's it! That's the answer! I don't know! And I can't believe I didn't do that! BUT! BUT! BUT! In a SERIOUS attempt to save face, I have compiled a small list of reasons:
1. I do all my computer work at night and I grow...fatigued.
2. I am looking too much into the details and get distracted trying out new software, encoding, converting, etc that I forget the big picture that it's probably easier than I am making it!
3. Too many projects, too many downloads! Greedy, greedy!
4. Stupido.
Well, I hope this formal chiding of myself (lol!) has been a source of serious humility-setting for others. It certainly has been for me!
After all, I really do want world peace!
