Ok, after i purchase my new laptop, im going to need a few more pieces of equipment to finish up my needs to do the older VHS tapes I have. I pretty much know the sites where I can find the Datavideo TBC-1000 for a good price to handle the older VHS tapes (and current ones too). I also plan to get the Canopus ADVC-100 for captures as well, though I know the Panasonic AG-DV2000 deck I have can do the A/D conversions via passthrough to my computer with the Sony SVHS editing deck I have connected with it, I am going to have a seperate setup for the older VHS captures. My firewire card has 3 ports so I can connect up to 3 devices.

So in this, ive decided to work on getting the JVC HRS9911 SVHS deck as I have seen LordSmurf and a few others recommended to work with the TBC and ADVC-100 for strong VHS captures. What are some good sites where I can find this deck for sale? I dont want to include Ebay, because the ebay process takes too long, and im picky about used/new equipment (i prefer new equipment) I know it may be around $350 which I dont mind paying, you gotta buy the best to have the best. This way I can figure out on how much I need to save up after my laptop purchase. Thanks guys!

Here is the best link you will find:
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=248588...#goto_itemInfo

This is where I bought mine, and I'm very happy with this unit.

How good are refurbished equipment? I could possibly go with it if they are reliable....I just stay away from used products like ebay, where sometimes the sellers dont always tell you the truth about the condition of the stuff they want to sell.

  6. There is a theory that refurb electronics are actually less likely than new to have problems because technicians have checked them out and/or repaired them. I've purchased a couple of refurb items in the past and it has worked out great for me. YMMV
