  1. Sorry about this but I don't know of any forums dedicated to dealing with virii.

I have run AVG but it cannot find the virus, although I keep getting a message saying that I have a trojan sited at "C:\system volume information..."etc ending in A0208099.exe.

Any ideas how I can remove it as AVG cannot recognise it. yes I have the latest database for AVG.

For trojans, I prefer Spybot S&D. Be sure to download the updates. Best to disconnect from the Internet and run in safe mode. If you are running XP, disable the restore feature temporarily as they can hide there.

If no luck, adaware or others. Antivirus software cannot always handle trojans.

Microsoft themselves should be the major supplier of antivirus and antitrojan software. (Sorry, just my rant against MS).

Trendmicro is also a handy site. They have a online scan that is very good.

I also run SpywareBlaster to catch those nasties before they insert themselves.
