Greetings,
I'm having some troubles, lately, getting my output video to the appropriate size for viewing on a television.
No matter which converter I use (Currently using WinAVI), the output video is too large from the screen; i.e., my video which had subtitles in the RAW AVI file are half hidden at the bottom of the screen.
Is there ANYTHING I can do about this?

Do a forum search on overscan and title safe areas. All you can do is shrink the image and add a border around the outside. You can do this in an editor, or in tmpegenc (a search will get you the method).
Be aware that the overscan area is not fixed, and varies from TV to TV (and isn't there on a PC at all), so some TV's will hide the border, some will show some of it, and some may still cover some of your subtitles.
