  1. i am having problems with converting xvid to divx 4/5 for my divx player xms 888. when i use virtual dub to re-encode the sound is out big time. And also if i want to add subtitles to the avi that is wrong aswell.

    Any help ?

    you might just try 4CC patcher first..

    and you really dont have to re-encode the audio, its probably vbr mp3. you're just wasting your time.

    Addressing sound. What format is it? MP3 VBR is a common problem with audio/video sync and Divx/Xvid. I save out the sound with VirtualDub as a WAV and redo it as MP3 CBR (Constant Bit Rate) audio.
