  1. I've been adding to my music collection lately and have been discovering new bands that I like through places like Amazon and from word of mouth from friends etc.

Just wondering how you find new bands/music to listen to?

    Word of mouth mostly.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

word of mouth, but also from Aquarius Records - great store, great people, and they have streaming audio samples of most of their stuff.

iTunes Music Store. Makes it very easy to find bands that the crappy radio stations don't pick up on.

New or new to you? As far as I an concerned there is very little or no music recorded in the past 15 years thats' much different from the past. The only "new" band I really like is the Bloodhound Gang. And the only reason I got into them is they made a reference to Falco in one of their songs. Most of the stuff I listen to is from the early to mid 1980's, back when music and music videos were good.

    I agree zzyzzx.

Imo, the 80's had better music.

    I use p2p.

Most independent artists will put their music on p2p to get recognized and heard. If I like it, then I will buy their music.

Hrm... usually I find band that are new to me instead of just new. That way they have (hopefully) more music to pull from.

I've learned to not be afriad to investagate a band say... with a good song on a sound track. That helps alot actually. Other then that I sometimes take suggestions from people I talk to online, then sample them somewhat from the internet before I plunge in and buy the CD.

    BAH! over produced crap.

Movie soundtracks can offer up a large selection of good music. The downside is that often the music on a soundtrack is the only good song ever produced by some of the bands.
