  2. There are LOTS of ways to do it.

ONE way, using free tools, is this:
    1. Rip ALL files to your HD with DVD Decrypter.
    2. Use IfoEdit (its DVD in build player) to determine what Titles (and what VTSs) you actually want to keep.
    3. Having ascertained what VTS files you actually want demux them with VOBedit.
    4. You will end up with separate Video, Audio (and Subtitle if any) files. These files can then be used as they are to re-author with DVDlab.

The above 4 steps will keep a title "together". If you also need to select only certain clips from a title then you need to edit. You can edit your MPEG files (obtained in step 3 above) with MPEG2Schnitt (for example).

To know how to do each of the steps above look to the Guides section and search for guides for each of these tools. They are there except for MPEG2Schnitt. For this one go to its website.

    Hope this helps.
    It wasn't me.

you can also use DVDShrink' s reauthor feature if you want to do any Title cropping and then demux afterwards (plenty of guides around)

tmpngc author may be another authoring option
