  1. I put the dvd in the dvd rom and saw two folders: Jacket_P and Video_Ts. How do I back up this dvd and burn it to a dvd r? By the way Video_Ts is 6.40 gb big. Do I use Dvd Decrypter to rip it first and then use dvd shrink to shrink this? I'm a newbie, please help me out.
    Thanks

Read the guides to the left, marked "DVD Backup".

Do at least a little research before asking this most basic of basic questions.

If you read it already then there's no need for anyone to help you then.

There are 27 guides telling you the answer to your question. If we don't answer because you obviously haven't put the effort in, then you get pissed because no-one answers.

Just so you don't start to cry, here are a couple to start with

If these are beyond you, then you need to get a new hobby.

To put it a little bit more tactfully than my fellow forum members, the question you have asked has been asked 1000's if not 1,000,000's of times before.

    Anyway....

It sounds like you have a DVD-Video that also has a DVD-ROM component that you can play in your PC. You can go two ways - Just backup the video part, or do a complete backup of everything.

If you wish to just do the movie, then use your favorite transcoder such as DVD2One or DVDShrink and Bob is most certainly your uncle.

If you wish to do the whole shebang then you need to work out the size of this component (the JACKET_P folder) because we can't alter the size of this by shrinking it. Once you know the size of this folder, then you can work out what size you need to shrink the video to so that it will all fit on a DVDR.
    If in doubt, Google it.
