  1. I have 17 AVI's that are the seuquels of a TV serie. Each is about 350 Mb.

I would like to burn these in such a way that they can be viewed on a standalone player. And I want to combine several of them onto 1 DVD.

What is the way to do this??

Append them one onto another using QT, exporting to AVI and then FFmpegX. Or is/are there better ways.

    Thx

You can fit either 4 or 8 episodes on a DVD. 8 if you encode them at 352x480(576), so this may deteriorate the quality.

The best way is to encode them in MPEG-2 for DVD and author DVDs with a menu to select the episode you want.

Use Tmpgenc or MainConcept or CCE Basic to encode to MPEG and then Tmpgenc DVD Author or DVDLab to author the DVD. Tmpgenc encoder and author program as well as DVDLab are available as trialware for a limited period but with full functionality.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

Only problem is these are all PC programs and I would like to use my Mac.

  4. Encode each file separately with DVD preset then use Sizzle or DVD SP to author them as a single DVD with a menu.

    Indeed the most logical solution.

For reasons unknown I was trying to find a solution adding all the avi's the converting then buttons. Would have been much more complex.
