how to fix MPEG when timeline stop but vdo still going on

I have couple videos where the duration only show 3min but it actual time is 15mins. When the timeline goes to 3min , i can't fast forward anymore.

SOme videos when i fast forward, the picture freeze, but the audio still going.

How can i fix those problems?

Would you mind please telling us what program you are using to edit the MPEG files? If you are using Premiere that might be part of the problem.

I didn't edit with anything
I got it . it's a music video. The timeline shown only 1min. but the actual timeline is 3mins.

How can i fix it?

Alright. Sorry I haven't been around here in a while. If you are still having issues with the timeline problem then here's what you could try. I would suggest downloading VirtualDub and trying to import the clip(s) into that program. See if it shows the whole timeline instead of just a little bit. If it does then it's most likely a problem with your media player (by the way, which one do you use) or the clip itself is screwed up. Post back with your findings.

I'm currently using Media Player 6.4 and 9.

But with the ffdshow codecs, i use media player 6.4 more,
cuz it load faster and i can fast forward of timeline for ASF or WMV files.
The media pLayer 9 won't allow me to fast forward asf files.
