is there any way to configure mainconcept to capture at the bitrate that
i want?
i have been trying to capture at variable bitrate, but no matter what
bitrate i put in, the size of the file i end up with is the same or VERY
close.
am i missing something here or is it just the way it is ?
thanks

When you capture realtime to mpeg and you use 2 pass VBR, set lower the average bitrate value for smaller file size.
If you capture CBR, it is obvious that you need to low the bitrate. -
i did try to lower the average bitrate, but it still comes out the same.
even when i try an average bitrate of 2000 it comes out as if i
just use the default bitrate.
any idea?HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE -
I don't have that problem myself, so I guess that you have messed up some settings to the encoder.
I'm out of ideas, sorry... Maybe someone else can help you more.
